MOURNING TEA IN THE AFTERNOON
with CHRISTINE TRENT

Join us at the Tillie Pierce Inn for a book signing and mourning tea in the afternoon on Saturday, October 21 from 1 to 3pm. World renowned author Christine Trent will be visiting is again to provide a look into the weird and wonderful practice of Victorian funerals. During our light tea, served with scones and snacks, we will engage in a lively discussion and conversation along with a fun quiz on practices of the period for prizes! Original mourning antiquities from the 19th Century will be on display for your perusal. A book signing will follow.

Cost is $15.00 per person and reservations may be made through Regimental Quartermaster at 717-338-1864. Cancellations must be made 10 days prior to the event.

It is an honor and a privilege to be such an integral part of sharing the history of not only this home, but the rich history of Gettysburg. As manager of the Tillie Pierce House Inn, I am committed to making your stay here as comfortable and as memorable as possible.

The Inn continues to evolve and improve, and I intend make it your home away from home during your visit. Tillie Pierce House Inn has a very hearth and home feeling that takes our guests back in time to the simple pleasures of the Victorian era.

During your stay here, you will feel the richness of the home's history and will no doubt want to learn more about Tillie Pierce's remarkable journey through the greatest battle of the Civil War. You will also be fascinated by the experiences of the Pierce family and what their lives were like before, during, and after the Battle of Gettysburg.
